HSBC Mobile App Incentive

When I logged into HSBC on-line banking via my desktop browser yesterday I think I saw a message suggesting I could get £10 just by installing their mobile app.
By the time I'd finished my transaction the message had gone and I haven't been able to find any reference to this incentive.
Anyone know what the terms and conditions might be?

  • What is the HSBC UK Mobile Banking Cash Reward
    Incentive Campaign?
HSBC is offering selected eligible HSBC customers a one-time
GBP £10.00 (ten pounds sterling) cash incentive to download
the HSBC UK Mobile Banking App and login to the App (the
“Incentive Campaign”) as described in these terms.
Who is running the Incentive Campaign?
HSBC UK Bank plc (“HSBC”). HSBC is a company
incorporated under the laws of England and Wales with
company registration number 09928412. It has its registered
office at 1 Centenary Square, Birmingham B1 1HQ,
    United Kingdom.
What is the status of these Terms and Conditions?
By participating in the Incentive Campaign you agree to these
terms. These terms form a legal agreement between you and
HSBC so please read them carefully. These terms do not alter
or replace any other agreement(s) you have in place with
HSBC or its group companies, including any HSBC product
terms. HSBC’s UK Digital Banking Terms for Online and Mobile
Banking apply to the use of the HSBC UK Mobile Banking App.
    Is there any entry fee?
No. There is no charge to participate in this Incentive
    Campaign.
Am I eligible to participate in the HSBC Mobile Banking
    Cash Reward Incentive Campaign?
To participate in the Incentive Campaign you must:
    1. have received a personal invitation to take part in the
Incentive Campaign in the form of:
    a. a personal email addressed to you; or
    b. a banner advert displayed in your secure area of your
    HSBC UK Online Banking;
    2. be resident in England, Wales or Scotland;
    Terms and Conditions for
    HSBC UK Mobile Banking
    Cash Reward Incentive
    Campaign (January 2020)
    3. be aged 18 years or over;
    4. hold at least one current account with HSBC;
    5. be a registered user of HSBC UK Online Banking;
    6. use a device that is compatible with our UK Mobile Banking
    App; and
    7. not be an HSBC employee or contractor or involved in
setting up or running this Incentive Campaign.
If you do not meet, or prior to downloading the App and
logging on cease to meet, any of these eligibility criteria
you will not be eligible to receive an incentive payment under
the Incentive Campaign. This is the case even if you have
    received an invitation to participate.
    How do I participate?
If you meet the eligibility criteria and you download and login
to the HSBC UK Mobile Banking App during the period from
    3 February 2020 until 16 February 2020 inclusive (the
“Incentive Period”), HSBC will pay you GBP £10.00
(ten pounds sterling) into your HSBC current account by
20 February 2020. You are not entitled to receive more
than GBP £10.00 (ten pounds sterling) in total under this
    Incentive Campaign.
You will not be eligible for any payment under the Incentive
Campaign if HSBC is unable to verify that you have completed
the necessary actions during the Incentive Period or that you
meet the relevant eligibility criteria or if you are prevented
or restricted from participating due to a technical failure of
any kind (including failure of any information technology).
HSBC may decline to pay you the cash incentive where it has
reasonable grounds to believe that you have breached these
terms or engaged in any fraudulent or criminal activity or where
it would be against the law. You must continue to hold an
HSBC current account to receive the incentive payment. If you
move abroad after becoming entitled to the incentive payment,
this will not disqualify you from receiving it.
  • How long does the Incentive Campaign run?
    From 3 February 2020 to 16 February 2020 (inclusive),
unless it is ended early by HSBC.
What are HSBC’s rights to end the Incentive
    Campaign early?
HSBC may elect to end the Incentive Campaign early for any
reason in relation to all or any participant(s). HSBC may do this,
for example, if there is a legal issue or technical problems, but
also for other reasons. HSBC will let you know by email if this
occurs. HSBC will honour all cash incentives that participants
have earned under the Incentive Campaign under these terms
prior to the date of cancellation. Where the Incentive Campaign
is ended early no further cash incentives may accrue on or after
    the effective date of cancellation.
Can I substitute the cash incentive for something else?
No. You are not entitled to substitute or exchange the cash
    incentive.
What is the position regarding liability?
Each of you and HSBC will only be liable under these terms or
in relation to the Incentive Campaign for losses and damages
that are foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if either it is
obvious that it will happen or if, at the time you accepted these
terms, both we and you knew it might happen. No liability is
excluded for death or personal injury caused by negligence or
fraud or where this would be contrary to the law.
How will data be handled in relation to the
    Incentive Campaign?
HSBC’s Privacy Notice explains how HSBC will collect, use,
disclose, transfer and store your information and sets out your
rights to your information. You can find a copy of the HSBC UK
    Privacy Notice at www.hsbc.co.uk/content/dam/hsbc/gb/
    pdf/privacy-notice2.pdf.
Is there anything else I should be aware of?
Registering to use the HSBC UK Mobile App will automatically
result in you being opted out of receiving paper copies of
certain statements and documents. You are welcome to opt
back into receiving paper copies by getting in touch with
HSBC or visiting an HSBC branch.
It is your responsibility to comply with any laws requiring
payment of any tax, duty or similar payment relating to the
award of any cash incentive. HSBC does not accept any
responsibility in relation to your personal tax arrangements.
    Can these terms be transferred?
These terms and your invitation to participate in the Incentive
Campaign are personal to you and you may not transfer these
terms or your invite to participate to anybody else. Nobody else
is entitled to participate in this Incentive Campaign using your
personalised email or banner invite, so please do not forward
    the email for this purpose.
What law and courts are these terms subject to?
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales
and you and HSBC can bring legal proceedings in relation to
these terms in the courts of England and Wales. If you live
in Scotland you can bring legal proceedings in respect of the
terms in either the Scottish courts or the courts of England
and Wales. Neither HSBC nor you may bring proceedings in
    other courts.
    Any questions?

We didn't need all that copying, a simply link to the post would of been better.

    You're very rude.

The reason for the lack of link (and the copy and paste) is that the T&C's are from an attachment from an email.

Do you often abusively feedback on threads you have no interest in?

The HSBC app is pretty poor in my opinion, I'd suggest they save the £10 and put it towards development costs..

Thank you @veryintrigued for posting the full T&Cs. Although I was shown the banner advert I have not (yet) received an e-mail.

Don't have a smartphone and in any case not so hard up that I desperately need a tenner.
It took me less than 5 minutes to install and set up the app for our two accounts.
