Afternoon all,Weather has been horrendous and lots of local flooding, thankfully not our house this time.Needless to say the park is flooded and water rushing down our road at lunchtime prompted us to go and have a look. There were some idiots driving through deep standing water at speed , soaking the council workers trying to free up the drains
DB2 rang earlier and they have no power, phone or internet.
DGD and DGS have been here, unfortunately the little man has been unwell with D & V and has just gone home. My hands keep being scrubbed with anti bac !!Tea is a makeshift of leftover curry and 2 hm ready meal packs from the freezer. Sticky toffee pud for after with ice cream.Stay safe everyone, and welcome to newbies and returners x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Hi everyone....we're the same here...rain howling and rain lashing down since yesterday.
I had a lovely afternoon with little grand daughter yesterday then she stayed over. She only woke a couple of times so that was good. She had a great time shuffling backwards on her bottom and pulling there was stuff lying everywhere, but her smiles more than made up for the clutter!
I woke this morning feeling really dizzy and not right at all. DD took me over to the hospital and it seems I have an inner ear infection. Dr gave me tablets for the dizziness....I took one and fell asleep for next 4 hours! So I've had a lazy afternoon in bed reading my paper and fiddling on laptop.

Well we made it although it was quite an eventful journey. We had torrential rain on the A1 at one point where you could hardly see a few feet. Then we were turned back by flooded roads twice and ended up going over the Cow and Calf at Ilkley.
Talking of journeys Chris was coming home from work on Friday when the four cars in front ran into each other (he thinks the first hit the central barrier). He said that before he could react his new company car stopped itself and turned on its hazard flashers, it's amazing what they can do nowadays.7
