This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Morning Everyone,
Hope everyone is not getting too swept away, with the wind and rain. Wind speed where I live is 25mph
Not going anywhere today - paperwork to do
Have a good day everyone

Hi everyone, the wind is howling and rain too. My friend is meant to be coming over but in this weather, a ten mile trip each way might not be sensible. Even the birds are hiding. I've made a lemon drizzle cake but I'm sure we will manage to eat it somehow.
Otherwise, no plans except for sweeping the floor and I've done that now.
Hope everyone has a good day
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back10 -
Morning, always read but don’t comment, now rectifying! Very windy down here on bottom corner of Kent. No plans to go out today, will do indoor jobs and and tidy cupboards I think. Take care all in the windy weatherCarolbee10

Morning folks and thanks ILC for starting us off on this truly horrible day.
I might sound like a wuss but I find this weather really frightening. More so now I am on my own. A few years ago in a severe gale the front corner of our roof lifted off and ridge tiles and slates came crashing down in the garden. The penalty for living high up I suppose. I dread it happening again.
Anyway worrying won't help and I have no plans to venture out in it! I am prepared with a flask of boiling water in case we get one of the power cuts there is a chance of so I can at least make a cup of coffee! I've got the last portion of fish pie from the freezer for my lunch, which I will have with some green veg. Nice and easy (power permitting!!)
Hope everyone keeps safe and snug. ((HUGS)) for all in need/want of them. Take care all xx

ps the answer may be staring me in the face but is there any way of editing a post like there used to be? x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9

Hello
I've blown back in! I've missed a few days. A combination of finding new system daunting, and DH being in hospital. I don't know what it is about hospital visiting. I don't do much except sit in a chair, and yet when I get home I'm worn out! Anyway, he's much better so with a bit of luck they will remove the offending gall stone soon. That one little thing can cause so much trouble!I
DD flies home from Tenerife today. Looks as if they will have a bumpy flight. I've not told her about DH being in hospital. No point worrying her when there's nothing she could do, but I think she'll be cross when I do tell her. Still, at least she can skip straight to the good news.
Still blowing badly here but sun is trying to peek through. Better get ready. DS picking me up soon.
Happy Sunday everyone. Hope it's not too windy9 -
Morning. I used to post some time ago but stopped. It’s very windy here the bins across the road have blown over. Ours is in a more sheltered area so should be ok. No plans to go anywhere today. I am cooking roast chicken for Sunday dinner. I have a few things to cook in the fridge so might cook that and freeze it for in the week will see. Stay safe

Hi everyone,
We've had Laura, Brian and Esben here since Friday and Chris and Crystal came over yesterday for Steve's birthday. Last year we celebrated in his hospital room so things have definitely improved.
We have to go up to Yorkshire today and were supposed to be taking the camper van to the dealers but that may have to be postponed (again, we had to cancel it in November as well). Not looking forward to the drive but we have a builder, a locksmith and an electrician arriving tomorrow morning so needs must.
TA, just editing to add that if you click the little wheel in the top right it says edit.11 -

I'm another one who finds this weather frightening. TravellingAbuela - I'm also high up so we can console ourselves that we have no risk of flooding!
Definitely staying firmly indoors today. There may be some comfort eating on the menu.
I'm slowly finding my way around the new look site now that it has finally allowed me to log in after many attempts. It was really odd because it worked straight away on my laptop and iPad but kept on rejecting me on my desktop computer.11
