-8500 ISH night rate-2600 ISH day rateHas one been copied wrong and entered/swapped into your account ?
GoTo your online account and download the last 6 months pdf's and check your 6 entries. E7 I'm assuming. What clock ? There's no clock on PartL heating. There is a clock on PartL water, usually next to the water controller.you are 100% accountable for what is behind your front door.
Photograph both your counters (meter) and switch off your water only at the water controller, next day same time Photograph both your counters again. Has your kW consumption changed ?No, the numbers haven't been swapped. My numbers since I moved in and did an initial reading:8336 8440 8551 8662 916626400 25655 26964 27261 27305My hot water has been switched off since i got here. I took photographs over 4 days from 5th to 8th. I noticed the day rate increases during night time.0 -

Check with your DNO / electricity company, but above all, see what the meter is actually doing because that's what determines what your bill will be. Then make sure that your storage and immersion heaters aren't coming on during peak rate periods.Well, EDF seems much more unfriendly than my landlord. My storage heater is set to charge during the night. No immersion heaters. I feel the electrician's explanation is correct; the clock was off by six hours, possibly because of the power cut and repairs performed by UK Power networks last month. I double checked with my neighbour, and her bill has also doubled in just a month.I found a switch for the storage heater inside the flat, but i suspect that's not what you were telling me to look for. I will now go down and see if i can find the radio teleswitch.

That's what my radio teleswitch does ! Hence it's so important to find out for a fact just what your E7 times are, not what the landlord or the milkman says. Of course, if it's a glorified clockwork meter switch or your landlord's timeswitch then it can drift.BTW, how is your water heated? I assume there's no gas because you have storage heaters.

You won't find a teleswiitch (RTS) it's a broadcast signal [origins old 80 leccy boards] embedded in broadcast radio signal. The switch goes each to different area codes in the UK distribution system map. Different times, different tariffs etc.

I do have a switch to turn on heating for hot water from taps etc, but I have never used it.0

If it helps, my meter says it is a multi-rate single phase watt hour meter. There seems to be some sort of dial in the front. The box looks like ebay. co. uk / p/ 6032634156?iid=312748440752 (sorry, can't post links yet).

Based on what has been said so far, I suspect there really is just a time clock somewhere close to the meter that was off by 6 hours, this is the way my system was configured for E7 before smart meters and my time clock also went wrong after a few local power issues that caused a few long power cuts.Eventually the clock went completely wrong and started running slow by about 40% which made a mess of everything of course. The clock is protected by a seal though and should not have been altered by the electrician...0
