Hotelgift.com Hotel Vouchers

Has anyone had any experience with the above company?
My partner bought me a £100 voucher for Christmas and yesterday I tried to use it to book a hotel room in London in July.
You have to book through their site but I was able to find a room at the right price (I compared to booking.com to ensure I was getting a reasonable deal). I added the room to my basket and hit checkout but got an error message.
I tried several times but it kept happening so I closed the site and tried again from scratch.
When I navigated back to the same hotel the prices had gone up by almost £100...!!
Interestingly, this time there was no error message and I was able to go straight to the checkout page...

This feels like a blatant scam to me.
I've emailed the company and I'll update this thread when they respond.

Have only experienced them once before because I won a voucher as part of a work competition. They are a third party so add a mark-up on top of the normal price - it will never be anywhere near as good as the direct price or even a price on somewhere like Expedia/Hotels.com. The website is very difficult to nagivate but I managed to use the voucher code and redeem it against an airport stay just to use it up. I had to follow the link from the email the voucher was sent to, but it went through fine.

If you're getting different prices, it could be genuine, or could be like something some other third parties use as a pressure tactic. Use a private browser in future so the cookies aren't tracked.

Hotel voucher websites that let you buy vouchers to buy hotels pretty much always have a huge markup unfortunately.

Can't comment about getting errors but clearing cookies and trying again might help, but most likely the price will always be more expensive than booking directly i,e not using hotel voucher websites.
