Buying on Ebay from Overseas?

Hi just checking when a seller's goods are in dollars & they say all overseas costs paid for, are there any other extras currency conversion with paypal & the card you use? Thinking the cost could turn out expensive with currency conversions.

Appreciate any help

Thx

With PayPal you have the option of paying in pounds or dollars, if you choose pounds there's a markup - you'll have to compare with what your card would charge for non-sterling transactions, if anything.
If the seller is using the eBay Global Shipping program you'll pay the import VAT and any duty upfront, if not you'll have to factor that in (along with the courier's handling fee,).

As noted PayPal use their own conversion rates. The best option is to use a no currency charge credit card e.g. Halifax Clarity for forex transactions and pay in US dollars.

You can have more than one card on PayPal if you don’t want to use it all the time.
