I recently started a new job 8 weeks ago, I couldn’t provide a p45 so I filled a starter checklist, I was on emergency tax for 7 weeks over paying tax by £235, I was eventually put on the right tax code and was taxed correctly and was told several times by HMRC I would get the over paid tax back in the next couple of weeks.. after all this I was randomly taxed £187 in a week and now I am told I owe them £900, I’ve calculated my previous tax years and is all up to date now errors, Anyone know what I can do?

In order to understand this details are required.
Taxable gross
Tax paid
Tax code/basis
Taxable pay to date
Tax paid to date
Previous gross
Previous tax
These details from last payslip in old employment and each payslip in new employment, Previous pay tax may be blank on some payslips.0 -
It wouldn't harm if you told us what tax year the underpayment relates to and if it is incorporated into the make up of your current tax code. The make up of your current tax code would help as well.0

That is highly unlikely to be true.
Most 1250L tax codes consist of just the Personal Allowance.
You need to provide a lot more information for anyone to be able to help you.1 -

Not sure anyone on here is going to be able to help you unless you decide to properly explain what has happened and provide some detail such as chrisbur suggested.0

What level of annual earnings are you on? If you're a higher earner, BR won't have taken enough if you should have been paying higher rate tax on some/most of it.0
