Just been reading over your diary & subscribed! I used to use YNAB years ago and loved it. I resubscribed to it at the start of lockdown but haven’t used it yet (woops) but filled it in yesterday. Wish I had your dedication keeping on top of your budget, spreadsheets etc!
Can 100% identify with the food spending which feels dangerously out of control in our house - well til now as I am firmly reining back in (to the disgust of my husband!). I think almost everyone is in a similar boat tbh!Loved the chat re hair etc. I already cut my own hair so I felt really quite smug when all my friends were panicking about this. And I’ve always cut my 4yo son’s hair too as I’m quite fussy about how it looks. But goodness I was nervous having to trim DH’s as he’s a bit vain and didn’t trust me to do a good job. He wouldn’t actually let me do it for weeks until it was so bushy neither of us could stand it anymore. Now I’ve done it twice (and well, if I say so myself) he says I can keep doing it after lockdown!Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Well done re red's hair. I can do the front myself but its not long enough to do the back. When Mr M_F was on short time years ago we both did each others. I gave up makeup years ago and will happily embrace the grey when its not in clumps! I try telling meself I look like Rouge from the Xmen but its more cruella de ville on a bad day!Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

I keep well on top of the tracking its the sticking to the budget thats my problem lol lol) It may help with top up shops but I do most shopping online and even If I delete the details paypal has them! I could delete paypal but its too useful for shopping with protection so I need to put on me big girls pants and not spend what we haven't got.

Hi,
Thank you MF, I've had a look at a few YNAB videos on Youtube but they were by a Nick something or other as i find the YNAB ones a bit patronising
Been out to do the food shop today and i'm well under budgethopefully I won't need to top up anything this week and I'll have something extra for the CC. I have started splitting the transaction on YNAB so I can see how much I'm actually spending on, food, toiletries, cleaning stuff it takes a little longer but hopefully I will be able to do a little more than a guesstimate for some of the figures lol...I have my hair Apt booked in already but not till August as I am not going anywhere other than Work atm but I am going away for my 30th early sep so thought I would be tight and save it for then....I would gladly trade it for an eyebrow appt though, mine are horific atm and I daren't touch them myself x

Nothing much happening in the M_F household apart from Dog needs dental work -quote is £400-£500!!! 🤣🤣🤣Yup you read that right FOUR TO FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS!!!
Needless to say that is not in the budget but will have to be found as poor things been going off her food lately and now we know why. To anyone looking at that cute little puppy/kitten win the lottery before taking them on lol.
Ok so now your all recovered from the news of the impending vets bill -what do you mean you didn't need to recover??? oh just us then😁 - we can get on with attempting to knock that grocery budget into touch big time. Alcohol budget has been cut in half, that will be me going teetotal as Mr M_F would get palpitations at the mere thought! Anything lazy (such as pre-sliced cheese) has been knocked off the list.
