Unuseable to be honest. Most features removed. Can't sort, have to go into posts to click sip, can't order by title, getting subscribed to threads without asking and being unable to unsubscribe. 2 line spacing which is junior school by anyones standards. This forum has been moved to benefit MSE not it's members. Very basic and has taken a step backwards not forwards. No wonder lots are saying they are moving on. Might give the few who think they run the forum and constantly order others and tell them the rules they themselves have made up, just what they want....the forum to themselves lol

Well I'm voting with my posting fingers - I have rejoined the Prizefinder.com and re activated my old Loquax account together with various Facebook pages and found one I had not seen before at Competitions-time.co.uk - many more on Google which I will have a look at.

"This is not a Comping Site, this is a money savings site"
The chance to get things for free is just about the ultimate in money saving so this section is very much part of the site, this is also by far the most viewed, used and posted on section of the site. so if anything, compared to other sections of the site, the forum could correctly be named competitions with some other money saving tips on the side.9 -

@sleepyjones spent virtually the whole of yesterday sorting out problems for other members, advising how to get round problems and how to use/find things that had changed. They have created a list of items that MSE need to look at/change/fix. All this can only have been done at the expense of their own comp entering. They have answered the same questions over and over again and still people are asking/complaining about the same things. If you ask me, sleepyjones must have the patience of a Saint to put up with all this aggravation but all they seem to be getting in return is more complaints and it should not be any surprise that they are getting a little grumpy. If it were me I would have given up long ago but sleepy seems determined to try and get this forum back into some sort of order and deserves everybody's thanks.serenity2012 said:
Is there any thread where members are not happy with this backwards movement that makes it more difficult for people to enter or track entries, that you have not made a patronising response to? Personally i'm sick of your moaning and making yourself the spokesperson for offical MSE. You are not.sleepyjones said:This is not a Comping Site, this is a money savings site, the competitions were just bunged onto the end ... I did see the designs, and I did have a play about with some of the options before the launch, which are still being worked on. The important thing is to get the forum up and running so that we all have increased security and better protection of our digital data. The additions and customisation for the Comping section IS NOT a priority, and nor should it be at this very moment because it's NOT A COMPING SITE! (there are like 30 forums or something in this site, it's only 1 section, the comping section that requires these additional updates to allow people to red X / Green tick, you can't expect them to drop everything and work on that 1 section to keep you happy? Should / could they have delayed the launch until these things were implemented?, maybe ... but why should they hold off on their launch just to please 1 forum?
It's been said many times, the functionality will be there, but it will take a bit of time, sorry to be grumpy but this is all I've heard all day. I know compers can be a moany bunch but it's getting a bit much today.

After a day or two I am now getting to grips with the new mse comping site!! As someone who has won a fair few times thanks to this site,I am very grateful to it and the people who run it. NOT forgetting the good folk who post the competitions for us all to enter. It is not perfect of course and hopefully it will improve, meanwhile keep comping folks!!2

I am not convinced people will carry on posting here to be honest, I think other forums may now be better when for me this has always been the best one. Sadly think a lot of valuable posters will be posting elsewhere instead. I hope I am wrong. Nig respect to those in charge though it can't be easy having all these users relying on it being rightps: I am xoxlauraxox I can't get onto my old account even though I checked my email was right

There is always going to be teething troubles when it comes to moving to a new forum platform. I was a member of another website (who I will not mention, particularly as moderation went downhill rapidly and they accused me of supporting "hate speech" for what they deemed wrongthink but that's a tale for another day) who transitioned from vBulletin to Vanilla Forum software (the latter being what MSE is now using, so this format feels more familiar being used to it previously). I remember on that website, there was a period of transition, of people being used to the old ways of doing this, for potentially a decade and a half on the old vBulletin software. And as we're seeing here, a lot of complaints, threats of flouncing and a resistance to change.sleepyjones said:This is not a Comping Site, this is a money savings site, the competitions were just bunged onto the end ... But I would dread to think of what the anger would have been if MSE has stayed with potentially unsupported and insecure forum software, a security flaw was found and exploited by those with sinister and nefarious intent. At which point, passwords and other information could be taken. The anger would be ferocious, far greater than the transition to new forum software.
I've been through this before, it will take time for things to bed down but it will get better.6
