E: 07/02 The day my comping spirit died

This is not a Comping Site, this is a money savings site, the competitions were just bunged onto the end ... I did see the designs, and I did have a play about with some of the options before the launch, which are still being worked on.  The important thing is to get the forum up and running so that we all have increased security and better protection of our digital data.  The additions and customisation for the Comping section IS NOT a priority, and nor should it be at this very moment because it's NOT A COMPING SITE!  (there are like 30 forums or something in this site, it's only 1 section, the comping section that requires these additional updates to allow people to red X / Green tick, you can't expect them to drop everything and work on that 1 section to keep you happy?  Should / could they have delayed the launch until these things were implemented?, maybe ... but why should they hold off on their launch just to please 1 forum?
It's been said many times, the functionality will be there, but it will take a bit of time, sorry to be grumpy but this is all I've heard all day.  I know compers can be a moany bunch but it's getting a bit much today.

It might not be a comping site but the competitions section is by far the most popular part of it and probably has more posts than all the others combined.
There is no point digitising your target audience because if they don't like it they will depart and go elsewhere. I found your post very rude to be honest.

Actually, the new format does not seem so bad to me. Sure, it's not as familiar as the old set up, but I am not going to be 'driven away' as a previous poster suggests.

I I started comping when my husband died it stopped me dying too so for  me it’s a  priority I understand that you are stressed but I would like to point out this is meant to be a community and one of the rules is be kind, I think you may have forgotten that rule in this response. Also  in all my time on this “ apparently non comping site”  which is six years not the 3 it now says, I  have never come across  moany  comper I am most certainly am not moany.  I found your post most upsetting, in fact the only moany post I have ever seen on here

The managers of the Comping part of MSE should consider what happened to HOT UK DEALS who changed their website, much like this, and the disaster that followed meant that the site effectively collapsed. From being a site like MSE it now has one or two posts per day and very few users.

It might not be a comping site, but this is the most active forum by far and the amount of times I see competition winners feature in the weekly emails suggests it's quite a useful advertising tool for MSE. I've been a member for over 10 years and like pinkfairyf27 started comping after a bereavement. The competitions forum has never been a 'moany bunch', in fact quite the opposite. Compers are some of the most generous, friendly people I come across online. Maybe you're being so defensive because you can see how nonfunctional this forum is now? People expect snags and issues for a while when things change, but to get things this wrong is very frustrating for people who use and contribute to the forum. MSE is normally fantastic, so it's a surprise that they've got it so wrong on this occasion.

Perhaps because I've only been a member for six months or so, the change hasn't had any impact on my use of the forum. In fact I find it much clearer and it's great that the 'entered' flag actually works .

i think thats a very rude response really, the comping side is the biggest part of the forum and i bet if the comping side collapsed the rest would follow, so yes in reality the main section of the mse forum is comping and should be treated as the priority forum.

Plus, there might be 30 forums but the majority of them are the same (and have basic functions). You would hope the forum that generates the most traffic would have a pretty significant amount of hours spent on it. It shouldn’t have been difficult to make note of the added functions that appear on the comps board and make sure they were implemented.
tbh some of the problems and niggles are pretty embarrassing given the amount of time they’ve spent on it.

Is there any thread where members are not happy with this backwards movement that makes it more difficult for people to enter or track entries, that you have not made a patronising response to? Personally i'm sick of your moaning and making yourself the spokesperson for offical MSE. You are not.
