Yes, at least to 31st December and the government have indicated they want to bring in similar legislation as currently it is only EU and not UK law, unlike the Package Travel Regulations for example.

According to these articles, it was one of up to 20,000 directly applicable EU regulations brought in to UK law by the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018, which came in to effect as we left at 23:00 on 31/1/2020.

It would be good if rather than simply copy and adopt that the U.K. revisits the legislation and takes out some of the daft anomalies and creates something workable, better and perhaps fairer for both parties.

Whilst it is being adopted into UK Legislation (Copy & Paste), the UK will be free to change and modify it as Government feels necessary in the future.  This may be to the benefit of consumers.  That said, it may not - be sure that both British and International airlines will lobby UK Government(s) to change things in their favour, or maybe even scrap it altogether.
