FTTP cabling options

FTTP has just been rolled out in my area and I (should I want to) can avail of it. However there is no OR provision to my house. There is a telegraph pole which I assume used to service the property. Previous owners renovated and got Virgin to cable underground and didn't get the OR phone line connected back up.
Since then, there's been a house built next door to the same spec (virgin only, no BT) which would now mean any cable from the telegraph pole would traverse their front garden and is probably a no go (I live in a bungalow so it would be far too low going across their driveway.
At any rate I don't really want an over-air cable, nor do I want the telegraph pole moved.
If I wanted to get this installed, would they do it underground? I'm prefectly happy with Virgin, but probably only for as long as they keep letting me have a decent deal. It would be nice to have an option without it being a bluff.
Anyone had something similar?

The FTTP rollout in my area was through the underground ducts to the pole .
Sign up for FTTP and OpenReach changed the cable pole to house .
Would they go underground just for you is something you would need to ask them .
Be aware that not many ISPs use FTTP at present , deals few if any .0 -

Would be 6 months away at least, BT offering it, which would do as I'd want BT Sport as part of a package.
Anyway, I have tried my best to ask Openreach but I just get generic replies back:)

OR won't answer you'd need to go to the ISP (ie BT or others) to ask if they can supply.
What do the checkers say?0 -
As others have said, you need to go to an ISP and even then they wouldn't actually do the work, so it would be down to Openreach to decide the best method of doing it.
Does the pole have an optical distribution point at the top - that's how ours is installed from the ODP via overhead to our bungalow or is the ODP in a manhole and if so which side of the road as I guess the cost of digging an underground cable to your house might make them a bit reluctant.
There are only a small number of FTTP providers, so there's not a lot of competition and prices are much higher than the normal FTTC/ADSL offerings.
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
