Hi all,
I’ve been with OVO for about 3-4 years now and recently decided to switch supplier.
I have used their app to enter meter readings etc since I joined them and saw that I had £1800 in credit!
It’s been taking a while to get this refund so I emailed them and their response states that they have never billed me. I can see the readings etc in the app but never realised they haven’t billed me???
I opted out of paper billing on sign up.
I’m now panicking about how much they’re going to bill me.
Any ideas about rulings concerning how far they can go back? I haven’t hidden anything from them, I’ve even contacted them numerous times over the phone regarding smart meters etc but just never even thought they weren’t billing me.
I can see usage etc in the app as well.
Thanks in advance

Log into your account and take screenshots of everything and download any documentation. Take screenshots of everything on the app too. Do it now so that you have a record of the current situation.
They can only go back 12 months, but there is a question mark over whether they can go back further if there is a credit balance, see the comments here:
