Looking to visit our first greek island but dont know which to choose, please help

We are a couple in our late 50's, enjoy walking and site seeing during the day and a nice British bar with karaoke and live music in the evenings.
Have done Benidorm, Puerto Del Carmen in Lanzarote and Las Americas in Tenerife and fancy trying one of the greek islands but haven't a clue which would suit.
Would welcome any help.
We are looking to fly from Manchester 14th July with a budget of around £1200 for self catering accommodation and flights...

Thanks in advance

You are looking at Corfu , the most commercial island , looking at your preferred previous resorts

Parts of Crete are busy too. I'd say from the sort of activities you enjoy you don't want one of the quieter islands.

Not seen (or heard) much karaoke in the places we visit.
    Aghia Marina on Crete
    Tingaki on Kos
    Parts on the Greek mainland
    Skiathos Town

But we do tend to steer clear of Brit bars.

Somewhere like Sidari or Agios Gordis Corfu.

hersonissos in crete is lively enough without the younger end.also lindos and pefkos in rhodes are also good resorts for the older end.

I would say Sidari in Corfu, it's home to lots of bars and restaurants many with tribute acts, quiz nights and I'm.sure karaoke too. Agios Georgios in the south of Corfu also has quite a few entertainment bars but would seem very small for you in think.

Other options may be Hersonisos / Stalis in Crete?

I've been to a few livelier resorts that have a few brit bars like faliraki in Rhodes, Laganas in Zante and Kardamena in Kos but I've never noticed karaoke to be honest.
    Lea
  • As you are going in July (summer) then Mykonos could be a nice option. It has beaches, bars and much musical activity. Also, don't forget to see Elafonisi beach. The colour of its water is worth watching.

Isn't Elafonissi (sp?) In Crete? Not Mykonos?
I know buses run there from Chania Town which is in Western Crete.

Or is there one on Mykonos too?
