Where can I buy a good replacement laptop battery?

Hi all

I have an HP Pavilion laptop from, I think, 2012. It does the job for what I need it to do, but the battery is so poor, that the moment it switches on, the battery is used up and it shuts down before even getting to the main screen! I can't remember the last time I was able to use it without having it plugged in.

Online, HP don't supply the replacement battery type that I need. I've googled and Amazoned, but there are so many different sellers and batteries that I gave up.

Can anyone please recommend a good online store where I can find a suitable replacement battery? The price is less important than the quality.

Thanks
KiKi

eBay for a genuine HP one that's been removed from your particular model, perhaps where someone has scrapped and broken one for parts?

Your battery will have a part number, try searching that on eBay or Amazon.

Or, you can search for the model of the laptop, but this has to be the long(-ish) number which is usually located in the battery bay or on a sticker at the bottom of the laptop (for example, HP Pavilion 14-ce3501sa), not just the series (i.e. HP Pavilion 14).

Thanks, both. I did search on Ebay and Amazon for the specific battery but there were *so* many sellers and options (mostly of non-HP batteries with lots of references to different makes of laptops), I was worried about just buying something that wasn't very good quality (or dodgy!).

I was hoping that there was one good manufacturer of replacement batteries, or a particularly good website out there that, that's reliable and makes good replacement batteries where I could search for it. (A bit like knowing that if you buy something from John Lewis it will probably be fine...!)

I've obviously posted something wrong but I don't know what. Really no need to make fun of me.

By the way, I wouldn't look for 'original' HP batteries, especially given the age of the laptop, I'm fairly sure that even if you managed to find it (I doubt), it would cost you way more than the value of the laptop itself.

Okay, thanks - perhaps I shall just have to trawl the ones on Amazon and pick a seller that has good ratings and hope for the best!

(I was tempted to purchase a whole new laptop simply for the novelty value, but it's such a waste of money given that this does all I need it to. It's slow to start - and operates that annoying version of Windows which has icons and no start menu - but it's sturdy and works!)

Both problems can be solved fairly easily, just open a new thread or continue on this one if you decide to take it further.

Did you find out the exact model of your laptop as described here https://support.hp.com/th-en/document/c00033108 ?

I am sure someone here will then be able to tell you the best place to buy a replacement battery for it.

Ah, no, not actually buying a new laptop, just commenting that's it's tempting!
Some posts seem to have disappeared but thank you for your help. :)

Hi there - thank you, TBH I wasn't expecting anyone to find the battery for me. I was more after a reputable online store or replacement battery manufacturer! But if it doesn't work like that then the model is HP Pavilion 14-b006sa.

I've been searching for batteries based on that, but there are so many sellers on Amazon with long lists of HP battery replacements that come up, I just want to make I purchase something safe and reputable. :) Thanks again.
