Switching from Plusnet

I know the new rules around switching broadband were designed to make the process easier, but I have some questions that I can't find answered in any of the articles I've read, or on the Plusnet website.
I understand Plusnet used to charge a £30 exit fee - although I believe this may have been in the following situations:
1. you are completely cancelling the service and not switching to a new provider
2. you are switching to a new provider outside of Openreach (e.g. Virgin, Sky)
Would switching to a new provider in the Openreach network (e.g. John Lewis) incur this fee?
The Plusnet website states giving 14 days notice when cancelling (which I assume also relates to switching) - does this apply when you are out of the fixed term contract period? Given that with the new switching process you can perform the switch by contacting the new provider, will the new provider provide notice to Plusnet (as long as I select a date over 14 days in the future?
If my fixed term contract finished on 10th February, but I didn't switch to the new provider until 20th February, would Plusnet bill me for 10 days, or would they bill me for a full month?

They should bill you for a full month, then after you have left, they should give you a refund on the part of the month that you didn't use.Indecision is the key to flexibility0 -

Called last night to give notice and said I'd be looking for another provider. Sounded fine but within 2 hours they had cancelled our broadband and phone line. Rang to complain but told too late.
Now without home phone or internet until 4th March and have lost our number.
Wish we'd found the provider first and let them sort it...0
