    Thank you Albermarie
so do you personally think it’s a better option to go with either Aj bell or fidelity and then say invest 50/50 in to VLS80 and HSBC global funds for example as opposed to going directly through vanguard which is slightly cheaper but limits for options for other investments?

If you are buying a diversified mixed-asset fund and don't have hundreds of thousands you don't need multiple funds. If you want the HSBC fund, use that and find a platform that allows you to buy that at a competitive price. If you want the vanguard fund use that, and use their own platform if it is cheapest.

If what you want is a vanguard fund and you don't intend to buy a non-vanguard fund for the next decade, you would be fine with the vanguard platform. If you did later want other holdings you could transfer to another platform at that point, or you could leave your Vanguard pension where it was iand start another pension elsewhere.   Whereas, if what you want is not a vanguard fund, you can't use the vanguard platform but you would be able to use a different platform and already be set up to buy other investments further down the line.  When you get down the line (in another ten years from now) you may well find that the platform you selected today is no longer the most competitive anyway, so you might change it.

Also you can pick one platform and they can taken over /merged anyway ay some point . It's relatively easy to transfer so I would not agonise over it too much ,
