Edf electricity no usage 12 months

We changed to Edf in dec2018 switched from green energy, everything went ok,paying just over £100per month gas/electricity, meter man came to read meter. Turns out he couldn't get a electric reading so we have now £1000 in credit
They had engineers visit said cant change meter non in stock 3 months ago.
We want change to another supplier as our 12 months is up?

Just go ahead and switch, it's not your problem.

It will be if he can't give an opening leccy read to the new supplier:)
