Phone arrived today 12th (ordered 3rd), slight delay in UK as friend hadn't entered my full address!
Meeting friend later this month. Will update re any issues with phone.
Hi there. Any update from your friend on the phone? I'm considering ordering a phone from this website myself and came across this thread.
  • Hi, I was wondering if you had an update on your friend’s phone? I was looking at purchasing one but found some terrible reviews about Onbuy on the web so have been put off. The price does seem too good to be true!

Steer clear, they are a nightmare when something goes wrong with your order, they dont want to know, just respond with " contact the seller
Had to jump thru all of Payapls hoops to get a refund for a damaged item, took 3 weeks, plus the site did not state the seller was in Italy !!
Onbuy do not give any helpline phone number or postal address on its site ( i wonder why !), you can only send messages thru its site.

As above; if something goes wrong you'll waste a huge amount of your time and energy and vastly increase your stress levels and probably still get nowhere. They state 'free postage' however if not on so called 'mainland' UK, after you've gone through the order process (and wasted your time checking prices etc in the first place) they add on excessive postage charges, so completely waste your time.

Or after wasting your time going through the whole process as above, you simply a 'can't deliver to this location'.

I personally, do not recommend shopping with this company.
They may be good, but on my first shop with them, I had to go the whole route with PayPal, to get my money back.
The company is multi-layered, you buy from one of their 'marketplace' traders/sellers and after that it gets a bit tricky.
I bought from OnBuy, and the item was supplied by one of their traders, during the supply, it was a bait and switch, with me getting what appeared to be a second-hand item and not the one pictured.

After going on their website and sending a return/refund request, nothing. OnBuy customer services sent an open message to the seller explain what they should do, the seller then sent out an address to another company for the return, time wasting all the way, trying to lose the return deadline.

Luckily, I did it through PayPal, I contacted them and gave them the evidence. Seller again did not respond until a few days later, which gave another trader name into the fray.
They went past PayPal's deadline before responding, after a long wait, they did refund, but not the return postage cost.

    So, buyer beware.

I feared as much. Too many different sellers and little connection.

I'd never heard of it before this morning, when I found an e-mail from them in my inbox. Any company that advertises itself by sending unsolicited messages is unlikely to get my custom.
