If you have a fridge, your consumption of gas for central heating will be a bit less. Was that taken into account?0

I find I am unable to quote, so John Smith 1890 said

Do you think that just because it's warm round the back of the fridge it must be heating the room? It's only emitting the heat it's absorbed from the room since its previous duty cycle.
Where did you think the heat comes from that warms fridges up?0 -
I'd imagine that of all your appliances were free-standing rather than integrated, the heat produced by their inefficiency could save you on heating ( assuming you've a thermostat). There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

Having spent time trying to figure out how I spend almost £1k per year on electric when I have gas central heating, I came up with the following. Power shower, top of the list, unfortunately not enough water pressure to do via the gas boiler. Next my 2 remaining old pieces of kitchen equipment, the freezer & the fridge in that order. This should reduce when I finally get round to replacing them by almost 2 thirds. My 4th big user - my son's massive computer that needs 2 fans - recently replaced/rebuilt which will hopefully reduce usage accidentally. Leaving a TV on standby is the least of my worries!0
