Existing broadband connection after home move

Dear All,
I would like advice on what to do regarding my broadband.
I put in a homemove form for BT for the 4th February as this is the earliest they could do. I actually moved house on the 31st of January. I got a text saying that the existing line is being cancelled on the 21st February. I hadn't realised but BT had actually cancelled my home move and also not bothtered to cease my line at my previous property, they didnt bother to tell me this. I have now been advised to put a house move form in to start on the 21st of February after the existing line is finished.
Is there anything I can do here? It seems ridiculous I am using the previous owners broadband and BT say they can't do anything to get me my own broadband before then?
Regards,
