Benefits cap

So you are not affected by the benefit cap if you get Universal Credit and you and your partner earn more than £569 a month combined, after tax and National Insurance contributions.
But you are expected to try to earn more?
My question is are you pressured to earn the minimum income floor?
If neither of you do get up to the MIF then what will happen? And how long have you got?
