Al Rayan Bank Asking for Personal Information

I opened a 1yr account with Al Rayan in June last year.
Yesterday I received an email from them saying they needed some additional information to help detect fraud, tax evasion etc.
I clicked on the link and the first question is asking for my annual income including salary, pension, dividends and anything else.
This seems a bit intrusive. Is it normal for banks to ask this?
Btw I'm pretty sure it's a genuine email and not phishing.

I bailed out half way through an application to open an account with them because of the info they requested.Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Albert Einstein0

Al Rayan confirmed that it's a genuine email, but the security lapses are astonishing. You really shouldn't be clicking on a link in an unsolicited email!I opened a 1yr account with Al Rayan in June last year.
