  • Unfortunately because the driver marked it as delivered and signed for Hermes can't do anything about it. I just don't understand why the driver signed for it, unless they wanted it for themselves to try and sell on and make some money out of it. The annoying thing is that the item would have been small enough to go through the letterbox. I've had Hermes forge my signature before but didn't complain as I had received the item. What they're doing is illegal but its allowed to continue and now I'm out of pocket for their misconduct.

So it happened before, it's illegal, you notified the police and refused to deal with Hermes again, right?

And you're surprised it's allowed to continue? Right.

Although it shouldn't happen, it's not uncommon for delivery people to sign on the recipient's behalf. I've even had my postman do it before.

Try posting On your local Facebook group asking for contact details for your local Hermes driver. People do it all the time on pages local to me and our Hermes area manager is a member and he chases every query personally with the driver and gets almost every issue resolved efficiently and bypassing the nightmare that is Hermes central customer services. Fingers crossed your local manager is as good as ours.
  • You know how you got the email from Hermes saying it had been delivered? Did you get one before this saying your Hermes package is out for delivery? I always get notification that it is out with the Hermes courier before they even arrive.

    I am now :D

Had my own issues with a delivery with, in my case Amazon, and their useless customer "helpline/chat" or whatever it is called.

Has made me buy less online and look for local alternatives.

Can't source everything but it has been an interesting exercise.
