GP records move electronically from practice to practice.
Once the new practice have said you are registered with them, the old practice should not be accessing your recordsPrivate Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA 0 0

Personally, I think it's important (for me and mine) to have recommended vaccinations. i.e. those mentioned on the health websites (I use Travelpro which used to be NATHNAC to research myself before I go to see my practice nurse so I can have an informed discussion instead of agreeing to everything. They use similar sources for infromation.)Katiehound wrote: »I had cholera vaccine last year- free
Yellow Fever- be aware you only need one in your lifetime now, any certificate, however old, is valid
I don't remember all those being recommended- I think they said that I might consider.
This is what it says:Most Travellers The vaccines in this section are recommended for most travellers visiting this country. Information on these vaccines can be found by clicking on the blue arrow. Vaccines are listed alphabetically.

Personally, I will not have a vaccination that is only recommended for a group of individuals that I don't fall into or for visiting an area that I'm not going to visit.
For example, on Ngozi's list, there is Japanese Encephalitis.
This is what Travelpro say about this:
If the OP is on a cruise, I'd guess that it is unlikely they will be spending time in rural areas between dusk and dawn. Most Travellers

Japanese encephalitis (JE) is a viral infection transmitted to humans by the bite of an infected mosquito. These mosquitoes usually bite between dusk and dawn, mainly in rural areas; especially where there are rice fields, swamps and marshes. Mosquitoes become infected by biting JE infected animals (particularly pigs) or birds.
Travellers are at increased risk of infection when visiting rural areas. Short trips (usually less than a month) especially if only travelling to urban areas, are considered lower risk.
If they are spending time in areas like that, they can make their own mind up whether to have the vaccination or not.
JE is not on the 'recommended for some people' list for UAE.

When the CQC inspected my surgery 16 months ago they found six sacks full of unopened records from newly registered patients. The records from my previous GP still haven't arrived after 59 years.0

Medical records are transferred electronically overnight. Your new practice where you register sends an electronic request and the old one accepts it. I literally work on this system which is used by by 99% of practices in the country. Fully described here:
