I have never understood why people buy cars over such a distance
If what you want isn't available locally - population 45,000 - then your choices are Aberdeen (pop'n 200k, 200 mile round trip), Perth (40k, 220 miles), Dundee (150k, 250 miles) - or Edinburgh, 300 miles.
Aberdeen has a grand choice of 11 Amaroks on Autotrader within 100 miles of Inverness - the cheapest of which is 10% more expensive than the OP's. Bring that radius down to 35 miles, and it's a total of three, of which the cheapest is 60% more. Only a little over 10% of the national pool are within 200 miles.
OP - with it being something like that, can we just check that this is a 100% consumer purchase, not a business purchase...? Because if it was purchased for business use, all bets are off when it comes to consumer legislation.
The other thing to consider is the price - £11,400 puts it into the cheapest 7% of Amaroks available nationally. Consumer rights for used goods are heavily tempered by age, price and apparent condition. Your rights for very, very (relatively) cheap used vehicle are nowhere near what they would be for a new one.
What are the fault codes...? Do they relate to things that would be reasonable to expect from a 90k mile vehicle?0 -
It's a fact of life when you live in a very geographically remote area like Inverness.

Car is for personal use. Faults was glow plugs, dfp sensor, timing belt. That's what I remember - papers are not with me right now.0 -
I wonder which of those were historic, and which would have come back if cleared.0

Get confirmation from the dealer that they will cover subsequent damage if the car is driven to them. They are not safety issues.0

Just buy one of those universal fault readers, from ebay for instance - plug it in, clear the faults and see which, if any come back? I did that with a Jaguar XKR I had. saved me a fortune in one off reads in garages. Not to mention the BS some garages give you to part you from your cash.0

Even though management light came on, was the any loss of power if no loss of power then it will be ok to drive back to dealerANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.0

For me it's fuel costs, hotel for a day(the repairs in local garages would be one full day) and another fuel costs to come back + to take days off the work. And if the car stops in middle of road then what - he will same that I broke the car completely.0

If you can't drive it you can get it taken on a lorry. Should be about 200 quid, maybe more in empty bits of Scotland.
(If the timing belt outright breaks, for some engines that'll do serious damage, so it's reasonable not to drive with a fault there.)0
