Mine is not contactless, I have had it a while though.Gerry1 said:Yes, Aqua are one of the arrogant issuers who refuse to supply non contactless cards. However, the problem is easily solved by punching a hole immediately above the last digit of the long number.0 -
I actually want a contactless one. Years ago I was told I would get one when my current card expires. Today I was told they are issuing contactless cards batch by batch so hopefully I will get one soon.Gerry1 said:Yes, Aqua are one of the arrogant issuers who refuse to supply non contactless cards. One way round non contactless cards is to get a Curve card and add them to it.0

I might have to 'lose' my card if they've started giving contactless cards out, mine isn't but I've had it 3 years
I have Curve, refunds on it are a mess though0 -
A Newday spokesperson, has said: “As part of a regular review process undertaken for all our portfolio products, the Aqua Reward Card has been temporarily removed from the market. While Aqua Reward will be unavailable to new customers during this period, existing card-holders will not be affected and will be able to use their cards as normal.”

So, if the above spokesperson quotation is accurate, then the Reward card removal from the Aqua portfolio is just a temporary thing...

It might come back: the Santander Zero card did.

I have a fee free card for foreign travel (probably no longer available for new applicants) which I keep with my passport so no hassle. I have been using an Aqua card for the cashback but the low credit limit is a pain. I got round this by making a standing order for a bit less than an average monthly spend each month just after the direct debit payment, so my account was in credit for much of the month. Some cash drag there obviously and not a viable strategy when interest rates are high. I have now applied for an Amex card, got immediate acceptance and a credit limit over 10 times that on Aqua. I will link that to my PayPal a/c and since I do most of my shopping on line and most on line shops accept PayPal this will work even if the shop does not accept Amex directly.0

Yes if the shop accepts Paypal you can use any card.0 -
Do be aware that buying through Paypal means you lose much of the consumer protection you get from a credit card.webwiz said:I have a fee free card for foreign travel (probably no longer available for new applicants) which I keep with my passport so no hassle.
