Car hire and with Excess Cover

Options
Recently returned from Fuerteventura, had hired a car for a week from TopCar ( through Opodo website ), avoided the hard sale of their insurance on pickup and previously purchased excess cover separately (as advised by MSE) . I handed over the £500 deposit via Credit card

Long story short; I hit a pot hole that buckled the wheel and had £250 (roughly ) taken from the £500 deposit

I had sent over all original documentation to the excess cover insurer 'Cover For You' ( Allianz Global Assistance Travel Insurance ) . This included the signed agreement , which has a small policy section (in link ) ,report, invoice , receipt and photos .

Allianz responded and basically are saying there is no insurance policy included in the documents and cannot process the claim , despite me handing them everything that I had been given by top car ( must include policy no ?) . I assumed this is what I already handed it over to them , I have a photo of it attached ( section on right ), it mentions on the paperwork that basic insurance is included - so am a bit lost

FWIW I have insurance in UK .

Any suggestions ?

Indeed odd, since the only insurance policy required is the Allianz one that you have purchased.
Get them on the phone and ask them what exactly it is they want.

Incompetence(or deliberate obfuscation) on a grand scale almost everywhere these days.
