Anyway, completely agree re the 'babbling brook'. It's a lesser spotted cliché, but cliché nonetheless. On the subject of lexical lunacy, surely the term 'bespoke home' is an oxymoron in the context of that advert. A converted industrial building (workshop/pottery/whatever) is the exact opposite of a bespoke home, on the grounds that it was built as a bespoke something completely different.3 -
