Nor the proximity to the airport.  I would want to spend some time outside the property to asses the road, train, and aircraft noise before deciding.

I wouldn't worry about aircraft noise, CWL is virtually disused.

Both cats look cute assuming it’s not the same one in both photos.  Absolutely terrible photos make the house look much smaller then it is. Although looking at the previous photos the living room is a very odd shape.

There's some sort of retail outlet on the ground floor and the landlord allows smoking.  Elephant and Castle, being a vibrant area, presumably has the odd baize covered table about the place too.

So:

Rent a flat above a shop
Cut your hair and get a job (you'll have to at those prices)
Smoke some fags and play some pool
Pretend you never went to school (advisable as it was probably private and you'll look uncool) 

Surprisingly expensive to be one of the common people these days, isn't it...

Both houses reasonable standard and able to live in right away.

This is a detached house. But also a spit level flat. So, a house, but not detached? Presumably the basement is a separate flat.
