I actually quite like the woody cupboard doors. they have just gotten a bit darkened with age but a new coat of oil and maybe some black metal or leather handles to replace the knobs and that would be really beautiful and boho.

The stairs up from the kitchen to the bedroom on its own is the "maid's room". I've seen that in other Edinburgh houses. Obviously the maid isn't expected to need a bathroom or toilet.

They could have colour matched the USB mains socket on the shoe island to the other ones. That's just lack of attention to detail. White plastic. Bit of a cheap job.
