Buy iPhone and iPad in Canada and bring to the UK

I'll soon be going on holiday to the US and Canada and was thinking of buying a new iphone and ipad while I'm in Canada as they are significantly cheaper. Potentially off Apple on Amazon CA unless I can find cheaper in

Has anyone done this? Is there anything I should be concerned about?

And can anyone tell me if the warranty would be valid in the UK (Scotland). I am finding many mixed answers online about this. I think the use of the word "may" in the warranty terms and conditions about whether or not products from other countries are covered is confusing people. Has anyone used their warranty in the UK with phone brought from overseas?

Not sure about warranty but you should be concerned about customs if you have receipts and boxes on you. If you want to keep them, the best way to get around this is ship your empty boxes and receipts back via mail.

Buy, keep the receipts separate.

Take them out of the box and dispose (apple dont need them for their warranty) and turn them on and take them past the initial start up so they look used.

In the unlikely even anyone asks, they've always been yours.

Make sure the iPhone can use the mobile phone bands used in the UK. Different countries use different bands and if a phone doesn't support the some of the ones in your country you can't use some networks.

The band issue hasnt been an issue since the birth of the smart phone
