I must admit I pee in the dark for the same reason, actually I don't want to wake the cat who may decide it's food a clock! We are rural, so no outside light apart from the moon, but I've never missed!0

I used a 5pound motion sensor light when I first moved and was vague about light switches.
You can leave them unfixed to adjust or use as a torch and they come on before you get into the pitch dark.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

We have one of these https://www.diy.com/departments/blooma-loma-dark-grey-white-battery-powered-warm-white-integrated-led-outdoor-decorative-light/5059340020426_BQ.prd?storeId=1007&ds_rl=1272379&ds_rl=1272409&ds_rl=1272379&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzOXw3KqZ7wIV4oBQBh2y0gZVEAQYAiABEgJgYfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
it has three settings, the brightest is just like having the light on. The lowest setting is perfectly bright enough and will stay on for around 30 hours between charges so you can have it on all night and just switch it on brighter when you go into the room. We originally got it for camping but its excellent in the bathroom overnight.0 -

We used to have a cheap one which was very loud and woke the kids and us up at night when used. Bought one of these on recommendation http://ebay.us/l3Le50?cmpnId=5338273189 and it's much quieter than our previous pull cord- not silent but significantly quieter than the standard ones. Would recommend it having had it for a couple months now!

Sit down, and pee in the dark. You'll get back to sleep quicker if you don't wake yourself up with a bright light.0
