Car insurance accidentally cancelled
Options
Hi this is my first post and I’m confused on what action to take, my current insurance general accident sent an email saying my insurance was being cancelled at midnight on the 28/01/20 I obviously panic and email them asking why, can only email as there is no telephone support, then by midnight find a new insurance company same price which isn’t a problem then get an email back of general accident saying it was and accident and my insurance is live again this was at 13:00 on the 29/01/20, would it be worth asking them to compensate me to cover cancelling the other insurance

You are still within your 14 day cooling off period so cancelling the second insurance shouldn't cost you anything. There is no loss to compensate you for.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

We should be nice to new posters and not scare them away.

Even if cancelling within the 14 day period, the insurers are legally entitled to charge you for the time that cover was being provided as well as a reasonable admin fee to cover their costs incurred in setting up the policy.0 -
