Can't she just use both hands to move the gear selector? It's not as if you have to manually change gear a lot throughout the journey.

Once again, is there something actually wrong with the gear selector?

The car is a Volvo XC60. My wife has lost a lot of strength in her arm, but didn't have any problems changing the auto gear selector in our VW Tiguan.

Does she move the steering wheel with one of those handles on the steeering wheel?
    Is she registered disabled?

As debtdebt asked, do you have problems moving the gear stick?
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Does she actually have real hands or does she have hooks for hands?

Whether she's good with a knob and registered disabled has nothing to do with the gearbox.

Jeez, that's poorly worded. The mind boggles . . .
