Well perhaps not, like I said I did actually call them, mentioned the amount they said shouldn't be a problem. Anyway it's Monese problem now, so gotta deal with it.

well I shall wait another day or so as email was sent - Plus I sent them the actual confirmation from the Czechia bank in PDF format, with all the details on it, which I could not do on chat, they don't allow attachments on chat for some reason. only pics

Oh yeah, Another thing I noticed when forwarding the PDF confirmation, seems Raiffeisen Czechia bank once again show their incompetence. I noticed on my personal details they actually listed an old address where I have not lived for 5 years. They were informed of my new address years ago and actually been sending me mail there, but on their records somewhere looks I'm still living where I lived 5 years ago. Unbelievable!! Perhaps that is the reason a flag was raised, as of course Monese has my current address. So perhaps with the amount, plus the wrong address , that got bells ringing? yeah thanks, Raiffeisen the gift that keeps on giving :-(((

But with all the ups and downs with Brexit and the pound going up and down like a yo-yo, I thought might be best to keep it in pounds for a while until the situation stabilises and pound rises
That's your original reason given for the transfer. Currency speculation.

Now you want to move the money because you get no more free banking

I notice you haven't said whether you are planning to leave the money sitting in Monese, without any FSCS protection, or whether it was/is destined to go further to another Sterling account.

Be prepared to have a consistent story for the AML investigation, and an answer to the question what the destination of the money is.

So trying to get the best out of your money when moving to different countries, is currency speculation is it,would have thought it's common sense.
It so happens I like travelling and lived in various countries so sometimes I have these issues. Guess I could be a good little boy and stay at home continuously, but I dont!

Well actually No! Closure was planned anyway, just the right time to do it, why pay high bank charges if you dont have to!! In fact the main reason for closing account is because of all the mistakes and screw ups they made , aptly made plain and clear by the Czech Banking Ombudsman decisions! ...and because I moved to another country. I closed 2 accounts with them already for those reasons and the pound one was the last one until I found another pound account ,which was difficult living outside UK, until the online banks started offering options. On top of all the hassles with that bank, I don't live in Czechia anymore why should I keep an account there? I live in Germany now and I don't see anything wrong with having a pound account in UK and Euro account in Germany and it's not exactly uncommon, is it!! Tens of thousands of people do it, so are we all "currency speculators"?

And thinking back I recently send 5500 pounds from Czechia Bank to my N26 Euro account in Germany and about 12000 Euros worth from when I closed my Czech Krona and USD accounts there last year to Santander Germany, without any hassle whatsoever!!!

OK, so there we now have reasons 3 and 4. A great range of options to pick from for the AML investigators.

Christ, you do go on dont you? Picking faults with every little detail, reason this and reason that, AML investigations...yeah right, maybe the FBI and MI6 will come soon as well.

I suspected having checked amounts with Transferwise, it would not be a big problem re fraud etc, and there was probably another simpler reason! Plus the fact I sent other even larger amounts before to European Banks without any hassle, but guess those "reasons" were not relevant, when there was some negative nitpicking to do.

So anyway turns out I was correct, so you can forget your reasons 1,2,3,4 blah blah, AML investigations or whatever!!
I finally got mail this afternoon, it was a simple error and they fixed it and money will be credited fortwith!
    So end of story !

Well, not really, it was the facts that solved it, but always helpful at times to have some useful advice on MSE

Problem is you post your query and ask why..

It could very well be any of the reasons given, 1 to 6. Or a simple error by the bank.

Sadly as we do not work for that company and are not privy to their systems or your account details. We can but guess at possible problems.

    All were perfectible valid reasons.:T

It seems like they hide everything, which can say about their poorness as a bank. But all of them do that.
