Amazon gift card
Comments

She paid using her debit card.
There was nothing you scratch off, it was a sticker you pull off.
Am I assume no one knows what my mother's rights are or where I should take this?
Never bought a physical Amazon card myself.
Looking at pictures of them on the Interweb they appear to have a scratch panel.
Where was the card bought from?
As it has a sticker I guess either Amazon cards previously used that method and it's an old card; or someone has scratched the panel off, used the code and stuck a sticker over it.0 -

If you're certain there's a thief in the crew there's been a crime. If only we had someone in this country who pretend to investigate crime. Maybe ring the police and ask if they know someone?0 -
If she paid for it and it has been allocated to an account already, surely they can then tell her which account given she paid for it??Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Also had two Amazon gift cards for Christmas and both were scratch off, never seen one without even though I've had gift cards from Amazon for a few years now.0

Ring them to complain rather than do it in chat, and do it first thing in a morning so you get a better chance of talking to someone in Dunfermline.0

I've bought a fair few gift cards in the past and never seen one that had a sticker over the code.
Was the gift card definitely bought directly from Amazon themselves?
There are many retailers that sell gift cards and it's possible that if it was bought from one of these that something dodgy went on (such as the scratch off material being removed, the code copied down then some sort of sticker put over the code to make it look legit.0 -
I received two Amazon vouchers for Christmas...not used them yet...just checked...one is in a gift card, and there is no sticker and no scratch off, just a code number on the back....the other is in a 'gift tin' and has a sticker on the back covering the code, peel off to reveal number.
I trust that both are genuine (the same relatives have given me vouchers in the past...always worked).
OP...keep pressing Amazon...but don't go too heavy an making accusations, you have no proof that it was Amazon staff that used the code...I would be more inclined to think someone used your code in error...ask Amazon to check WHO used that code0 -
I got an Amazon gift card for Christmas bought at Tesco.. I am only now trying to redeem it. The claim code doesn't look like the one on my gift card. Do Amazon gift cards from Tesco have a different claim code? Have tried for an hour trying to get through to Amazon and they are sending me round in circles. Can't find a phone number or email address. The Assistant doesn't give me anywhere to ask questions. Getting very upset now. Can anyone help?0
