Top up SIMO?

DD is going travelling for a year but would like to keep her UK mobile number. Is there a provider that provides true PAYG - ie. top up and not a minimum monthly tariff? BT advises that they can only offer £5 monthly in this instance. Thanks in advance.

In the same situation I opted for that £5 a month as it keeps the SIM active even if not used.

Most PAYG need to have calls made every few months

It can be a 1-minute call or a SMS, costing much less than £5 p.m.

I recommended a £5 SIM deal to a elderly person. Kept forgetting to make a chargeable call every 6 months............so this way doesn't lose the number

You could just phone them every six months -receiving a call will keep the sim active.

    No don't think so.

Has to be a 'chargeable event', you are not charged to receive calls

so you have to ring someone or send a text

You still can call and ask to call back.
