Even if all the action we are currently recommending (Gemma and eventual POPLA appeal) go belly up, APCOA are one of the most benign PPCs in the country. They are highly unlikely to pursue further than silly debt collector letters - which have no meaning or authority and can safely be ignored. Please read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #4 - but no need to rush on that.
Just look at how many times they pursued any motorist to court ....

Can you spot them there?
You must sleep well, there are many other motorists being pursued by much more venal and litigious PPCs who would happily trade places. Please believe us.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

@Umkomaas
Thank you, I will do all that's advised and like you said if all fails I'll stay strong. I never thought I would find so much support on a money savings expert forum. You won't know how much the help and advice on here is helping me calm down and feel confident in what to do.
I can't thank you all enough
I'll be sure to keep every one posted x0 -
Omgosh they aren't on there!! :j0

You could end it:
If APCOA refuse to cancel these PCNs under the circumstances for a long-term customer, I shall proceed to POPLA with all seven which I am well aware costs the parking firm about £30 per case (x 7) and APCOA's record at POPLA is not the best, and takes many hours of their staff time to handle the paperwork involved.I have really strong suicidal thoughts
I hope the industry is proud because this is what they do to people. Shame on them. Of course the Trade Bodies won't want that known and will deny liability of their beloved fee-paying ex-crim/clamper motley crew of members.
We also have another poster talking about ending it all today as well, panicking that he has to pay an unfair private PCN that no-one here would even worry about.
BTW if APCOA want more than £20, or £20 per PCN - forget it! Come here FIRST.
There is no need to pay APCOA and yes, they never do court (to date). I hope in this case they will see reason and act like a normal company would that has an investment in a customer service ethic.
Trouble is, that's what's missing usually.
Here we have a uniquely terrible (many aggressive thugs - I can reference some if anyone disagrees) industry of money-grabbing 'jump on the bandwagon/gravy train' group of self-serving 'traders' who mimic real PCNs, frighten people, extract dreadful rushed 'appeals' (even worse, hard-earned cash from innocent people who can't afford it) and yet they offer zero service to consumers, have no concept of 'customer service' and have no vested interest WHATSOEVER in caring about consumer law.
Equality Act? Forget it.
Consumer Rights Act? DPA? Who cares...POPLA don't, so why should they?
I invite APCOA to take this one on and prove me wrong; show they care about customers.
Next time, tell your family that the KEEPER is the one who appeals, even if they were driving they still only identify as registered keeper or hirer of a car. NOT driver.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Okay guys quick update
So once again thank you all for being there
I emailed Gemma and as it was predicted she replied back the next day with a reassuring email and asked for my car deets and also all the ticket reference numbers so she could start investigation
I have been waiting anxiously for a response and everyone I've told has been telling me I'm going to lose and i should pay up...
Just got in from work and had four letters, all from apcoa first my heart sank and thought here we go more fines but strangely enough they have written saying
Thankyou for you're letter regarding the above referenced notice
This notice is now on hold pending further investigation and we will respond by post at the earliest possible convenience. If you sent your appeal to us within 14 days from the date of contravention/offence the discounted payment will hold until you receive our response and you will be given a further 14 days to pay at the discounted period should we reject your appeal.
Any appeals received after the 14 day period from date of contravention/ offence will be subject to full payment should your appeal be rejected
Please note, this can take up to a maximum of 35 days from the date we received your letter, please do not make further contact with us during this period as this may delay our response
So that's that...i guess positive in that they seem to retracting a straight rejection. Gemma must have worked some magic!
Let's see how this unfolds0
