New caravan damaged by fire

Hopefully a bank transfer isn't a problem but the advice is usually to put all or at least some (£100 or more) of the cost onto a credit card to get an additional layer of protection.Martin_chunky wrote: »Thanks neilmcl you seem to be the only one reading the op correctly. Also why does there seem to be a problem with a bank transfer???0 -
Is nobody reading this thread, I though the OP was pretty clear. The caravan has gone back to the manufacturer because of a (potential) design fault in the internal wiring (OF THE CARAVAN) highlighted when a motor mover was fitted.
.Paying the full sum for the caravan and a motor mover to be fitted by bank transfer. The caravan was delivered and sited the same day of purchase. Having to move the caravan off site in early Oct 2019 we went to use the motor mover which resulted in an on board fire which damaged the 12volt wiring system, fuse box and battery charger. The caravan was taken back to the dealer for an independeant assessment which reported severe bending of the wiring which would have been there from the start.
So no the issue was not picked up when the motor was fitted... It was when it was taken back to the dealer AFTER the fire and noticed bending of the wiring. (no mention of which wiring) or if it could have been caused by the fire. Which is probably why it has gone back to the manufacture.Life in the slow lane0 -

Because with a bank transfer, there's no Section 75 claims, and no chargebacks. The money is gone. If the problem isn't fixed, your only option is to sue the supplier. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
