I had a 987 Boxster that was like that. The manual procedure was to jack the car up and remove the wheel then unscrew a plastic panel in the wheel arch. Unfortunately it was below freezing, the car was parked on gravel in deep snow so no chance!

The door opened with a key so I connected a charger to the cigarette lighter fuse socket (after pulling the fuse out) and powered up the car. (Positive to fuse holder, negative to nearby metal). I could then pop the "frunk" and get at the battery to charge it.

Well OP why post on here when you have answered your own question. DO THE BATTERY FIRST

Unless it's in the boot like a BMW.
