    No.

But good and accurate sites to check your credit history and making sure everything is as it should be at Experian, Equifax and TransUnion, plus their free counterparts.

I was with Experian for a year or so. I just don't want to pay the £15/m anymore. Capital One offer a free check. Reliable?

Do remember your score means diddly squat as only you can see it, what matters is your history.

    Define accurate ?

They can only provide information provided to them by the lenders etc.

This tells you the 3, there are others who take the data and just display it in another form.

I used clear score. Free and easy. They do try and sell you credit cards but it is not in your face. I assume that's how they make their money.

Don't just rely on 1 since there are others.

MSE Credit Club (Experian), Clearscore (Equifax) and Credit Karma (TransUnion). Otherwise make a request for your statutory credit information directly from the CRAs themselves. Also as above, ignore your "score" and focus instead on ensuring that the information presented in your files is up-to-date and error-free

Use the sources that others who are checking your credit worthiness are using. That means Experian and Equifax mainly. I think the score is an interesting figure but I agree that it is the history of many factors and trends of your financial history that is the overriding aspect. I think the credit-checking system works well and is an accurate indication for self and third parties.

The score is not accurate or useful. I am rated "good" and yet the only CC offers in my list, from all three, are subprime cards. I'm denied every single personal loan except for guarantor loans. I have zero adverse events in my history, no CCJs, no late payments, no debt, no financial links. The numbers are a load of tosh and are only useful for noticing a sudden dramatic change, which tells you to check your HISTORY for something new or incorrect.
  • For personal scores this site has a service https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/creditclub/.

If you run a small business then this site lets you key in some data and get a score just to give you an idea https://www.firstreport.co.uk/Free-Company-Credit-Check.aspx

For personal credit files with all the main agencies you need to be aware of fees that charge for monthly renewal. But I think they have to provide your credit file free by post.

If any charge there are the free options available eg if Experian charge you use MSE credit club.
