VCS parking ticket with my own permit displyed

Hello

firstly, apologies if this has already been posted but I have looked for someone in this situation and cannot yet find it.

I have been given 3 consecutive privacy notices on my car, which I first ignored- I am parked in my own space with my permit clearly displayed, so had no reason to believe this was a ticket...

I have called vcs who advised it is likely to be a ticket, but cannot say anything due to data protection, the keeper should expect something in the post.

I do not know why I am getting these tickets?? should I continue to park in my space until I find out? I don't have anywhere else to park and will have to park an 10 min walk from my house, which seems unnecessary.

Can anyone shed any light on this please? I have emailed already to ask what the privacy notice is on my car

Of course you should park in your own space, nine out of ten of these tickets are scams, Read this,

    http://parking-prankster.blogspot.com/2016/11/residential-parking.html

what does your lease/AST say about parking? Does it mention the need to display a permit? If not then it may take primacy over the self serving TnC of the scammer, and interfere with your lawful right to “quiet enjoyment” of your property, possible an offence under The Landlord and Tenants Acts.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

  • on closer inspection, the writing on my parking permit has faded, so the space number "74" looks like just a "7", could this be the reason why I have a ticket? if you look closely you can see the 4.

should I request a new permit to be sent out to me? or will they see this as some kind of "admission of guilt"

Do you own or rent the space?
If the latter, what does your lease/AST say about parking/parking permits/issuing charges/paying third party scammers/court?
What it doesn't say about parking is just as important.

Checking the Ts and Cs for living at your residence is your top priority.

Your lease/AST has primacy of contract over an unregulated third party. If paying a parking scammer and showing a permit is not included in your lease/AST, it begs the question, why are you showing a permit?

What happened when you complained to the landowner/your landlord?

Have you complained to your MP yet about this unregulated scam?

When do you plan to move out?

Have other residents had this problem?
If so, are they forming a group to get the scammers thrown out?

Was a ballot taken in accordance with the Landlord and Tenant Act to allow the scammers to scam?

I think it's a variation on the previous 'This is not a Parking Charge' red card., now outlawed by the DVLA.

@OP - can you upload a link to a copy of the Privacy Notice' please?

NEWBIES - HOW TO UPLOAD LINKS TO PHOTOS/SCANS TO MSE

To upload a photo/scan link, you first need to host it on a free photo hosting site (like Dropbox or Imgur), copy the URL, paste it here, but change the http to hxxp and we'll do the conversion. Newbies can't directly upload links to photos/scans until they've a few posts under their belt.

Please do not use TinyPic or PhotoBucket as they drop all sorts of gratuitous and unsolicited dross on computer screens when their links are opened.

    Or, read this advisory post:

  • I do own the space, I need to look at my lease agreement to see specifics on the permit. But my issue is that the permit was displayed.

The privacy notice is a note left on the windscreen saying they have taken images, I have not yet received a PCN in the post yet, but I am expecting this to come.

i have emailed them to ask to send me a new permit out, but have not mentioned the notices at all

Yes but you are dealing with greedy scammers that don't care about that, their muppet staff are instructed to ticket absolutely anything they possibly can to scam as much money as possible.

There is no parking management only greed, and they think they hold the power and intimidation techniques to make the majority cave in.

Follow the advice on here and don't give in to them, if you do they will think they have a sucker hooked and will try again and again at any opportunity.
