I've purchased 2 refurbished laptops from the Argos eBay site and both have been very good. My Acer Swift 3 came in the original box with all the accessories and documentation and looked absolutely brand new. They come with a one year warranty.
It's just a case of waiting for a suitable one to be listed at a decent price.
My ARGOS 'refurb', costing £250, still had the original plastic covering and lasted nearly ten years. That included long stints in very humid countries.
Specification similar to what taz wants to purchase now. What is she thinking?0 -
Neil29 and EveryWhere, thanks. I did buy Samsung S4 from Argos (eBay), I do trust these sites. But not individuals who post keys for office 2019 or 2016 at £4.50!
I will go to Argos (eBay), and see there. I'll get back to you guys. I am not a techy person.
Thanks again0 -

Still waiting for info on the key.
We can test it with an online PID check. You can send it via PM. It is very rare that a key does not work. Usually if there is an issue, they will replace it. So, at the moment, I am not convinced.
It's one thing being risk averse, but you need to balance it with a bit of intelligence.
Clearly the laptop to which I linked is not an Office 2016 key... Vendor has 100% Feedback and gives what seems an honest description of the laptop, with accompanying pictures.
Just an example.
As an aside, my Office package, via eBay, cost a lot less.0 -
This laptop from Argos(Full size so not within your criteria); https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Acer-Aspire-3-15-6-Inch-AMD-A4-4GB-RAM-1TB-HDD-AMD-Radeon-R4-Laptop-Black-/352825943790
was likely returned as horribly slow. So will be in as new condition.
The caveat is that you will need to fit an SSD, for perhaps £25. Unfortunately I cannot find any pics of the underside, to check if it has a dedicated hatch.
Again, not necessarily a recommendation. But a way to get a half decent 'as new' laptop, from a trusted vendor, within budget.
Though I should add that I think £195 is the right price for it new in the first place..0 -

Thanks, As the key wasn't working, I deleted it from my email. Next time I buy a key I will PM you. Another kind user helped me get back to Office 2010.
It wasn't activating through the internet and recommended phone activation which I didn't do.0 -

So in fact you don't know if it didn't work.
Anyway, back to the laptop.....

This is what would be considered entry level these days; https://mcscom.co.uk/product/dell-inspiron-15-3583-silver-intel-pentium-5405u-2-3ghz-4gb-128gb-nvme-ssd-15-6-fhd-win-10-1yr-rtb-wty-mln019/0
