Coronavirus effect on property markets?

At last the doom mongers are "probably" about to get what they think they want, after two decades of trying to 2nd guess the market they might now get falls. Most of us I might add have paid mortgages off in that time and led happy home lives.
But the one thing I am picking up on is the very warning we gave to them over all these years, it would hit them as hard if not harder than anyone else. Job losses with little warning, the empty shelves, no money and little chance of borrowing any, no going out and so much more for them to worry about.
I am reading through HPC.com this morning and can detect a "be careful what you wish for" undercurrent, we warned them0 -

and about China - what is the real truth?
have they got herd immunity yet?

Has Johnson acted too late to save the Estate Agents? The Times leader suggests so today.
This is what Politico.eu had to say in today’s email.
Quote
Not impressed: The criticism of Johnson’s stuttering performance continues to grow, spreading from largely left-leaning publications last week to the real Tory heartlands this morning. The Times publishes an utterly scathing leader column today which eviscerates the PM for having “disappeared from view” at the start of the crisis and then “dithering” while other countries acted swiftly to stop the virus’ spread. It says his early strategy “imploded” and that mixed messages have since led to “public confusion” at a critical time. A brutal final paragraph warns Johnson will thus get the blame if the NHS is overwhelmed, and says his fate may yet be more Neville Chamberlain than Winston Churchill. (Read an excerpt here if you don’t have a log-in.) It is truly extraordinary stuff at a time of national crisis from a normally supportive newspaper.

We tried to sell our house last year but the political uncertainties around Brexit meant the market was subdued. We then decided to sell this year and have recently concluded the sale although the market was seemingly still a buyers one, as it was in 2019, although there was a little bounce after Boris was elected with his majority. I really can't see that the market is going to recover any time soon especially now there is a real problem and people are cancelling viewings due to social distancing. I can see prices falling this year, isn't it just a question of by how much?1
