Since 23rd January the lowest cost seats , called "low fare" , no longer have a free hand luggage allowance . All you are allowed is a small bag under your seat

Thats all well and good on short haul.
They probably are as well throwing the towel in for long haul.0 -
Removing lounge access too from Premium Class, unless you purchase the most expensive PremiumFlex fare.0

Personally I'm more likely to only take a small bag on a long haul flight, and have most of my things in a checked bag. I wouldn't buy a "low fare" seat for long haul anyway - I can't manage a long flight without a couple of meals and would almost certainly want a checked bag.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

My recent trip to Buenos Aires was on Norwegian (first time long haul with them). Actually not bad at all, and quite a lot less than the only direct alternative (BA). The Dreamliner planes are modern and comfortable, and we booked when the flights were just released and reserved seats immediately, meaning that we could get front row seats without having to pay any extra. So loads of legroom. Service was certainly more basic than a full service airline, but not bad really. I would pay a "bit more" for a full service airline, but the amount I saved in this case was more than a "bit".

On the routes
I use it's not "a bit more", at least double or treble for one way comporable flights. MIA to LGW for instance. Norwegian are far from perfect, and we've had our share of issues with their long haul flights, but the price and flight times keeps me using them.
In fact my main gripe is how late they issue the next seasons schedules. Lol.0 -

I did same but decided I'd never fly NAS long-haul again. Short-haul with them is amazing.
I was also exit row window seat, unlimited legroom and a fold-up armrest-table and screen.
As with short-haul they charge for bottled water (USD 3.00 per bottle) and don't give out free water.
I had paid for meals but for the 13 1/2 hour overnight flight I found myself hungry for more than just two meals. It's also quite jarring to have to place orders for extra water or snacks through the screen by swiping your card, the bright light was nearly painful when I'd just woken up.
Crew were lovely but in being so close to the galley, even with the best ear plugs I can find online, I struggled to sleep through their chat and through the noise they made as they did their work. I arrived in Buenos Aires and in London feeling absolutely rough after each flight. Also, the narrow width of seats made it quite hard to get comfortable for sleep, and I'm not a large guy.
I had seriously considered bidding for Premium Economy but was put off by the reviews suggesting that beds weren't lie-flat and that a seat reclined in front of yours makes it damn hard to leave your own seat.
For the price, NAS is unbeatable, though. (For reference, it was £680 return with NAS in economy with meals and checked baggage, vs. £800 return with BA.)We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -
Personally I can't sleep for any significant length of time on any flight, even with a lie-flat bed, so I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that I'm going to feel rough on arrival, especially if it was a night flight. On that basis I'd fly long haul with NAS again as long as it's still significantly cheaper than the alternatives.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
