FD implementation of the secure key is unique. They seem to be the only bank that makes it hard to swap phones ans set up App.

As they are a phone based bank. Any issues ring them, they have a great team that know how to sort it out.

Just to clarify - I am not a new First Direct customer. I've had a physical Secure Key device for many years, and I am simply trying to switch to using the App-based Digital secure key for convenience, and because the battery is running low on my physical device.

The root of the problem appears to be that FD do not hold a mobile phone number for me, so have no way to send me a text. I can't see any option on the web site or in the mobile app to provide them with a mobile number, so it looks like the only remaining option is to ring them.

I was in the same boat, physical secure key was running out of battery. I previously had to provide them with a mobile number as I wanted to make debit card transactions online and need to receive OTPs for that nowadays. I had to phone them to add my mobile number, but they did it there and then over the phone.

Setting up the DSK can by done in a few minutes if you call them. No need for anything to come out by post.
