First Direct Digital Secure Key Activation

FD implementation of the secure key is unique. They seem to be the only bank that makes it hard to swap phones ans set up App.
As they are a phone based bank. Any issues ring them, they have a great team that know how to sort it out.Life in the slow lane0 -
Just to clarify - I am not a new First Direct customer. I've had a physical Secure Key device for many years, and I am simply trying to switch to using the App-based Digital secure key for convenience, and because the battery is running low on my physical device.
The root of the problem appears to be that FD do not hold a mobile phone number for me, so have no way to send me a text. I can't see any option on the web site or in the mobile app to provide them with a mobile number, so it looks like the only remaining option is to ring them.0 -
Surprised you haven't done this yetFingerbobs wrote: »...... so it looks like the only remaining option is to ring them.0 -
I was in the same boat, physical secure key was running out of battery. I previously had to provide them with a mobile number as I wanted to make debit card transactions online and need to receive OTPs for that nowadays. I had to phone them to add my mobile number, but they did it there and then over the phone.Fingerbobs wrote: »Just to clarify - I am not a new First Direct customer. Would have been helpful if you had mentioned this in your OPFingerbobs wrote: »It's not high on my list of priorities.

Setting up the DSK can by done in a few minutes if you call them. No need for anything to come out by post.0
