New Edge - removing Bing from new tab.

Solved*: Has anyone figured out how to stop Bing being displayed when opening a new tab? The new Edge settings do not include a blank page for a new tab. Searching in the address bar does use the chosen search engine. *Solved by RumRat: instal 'Blank New Tab Page' extension from the Microsoft Store.

Change your home/New tab page and use the address bar for searches.... If you use the default home/New tab page the search will be Bing.

Why would anyone use edge except in random circumtances where firefox addons prevent the site working and only then when chrome fails! (so never)

Perhaps because, as browsers go, whilst it might not be the best browser by some people's criteria, it's serviceable and it doesn't come from Google.

You think from microsoft is better? How little we remember.



Firefox for the main. Pale moon for others. Chrome when sites moan (do not work) regarding my ad avoiding plugins. Edge when you want to watch netflix is a decent resolution (and nothing else).

Not tried Option 1 but Option 2 works fine.
