Thanks for replies. Various suggestions did not work for me. I have edited my post as follows: 'Has anyone figured out how to stop Bing being displayed when opening a new tab? The new Edge settings do not include a blank page. Searching in the address bar does use the chosen search engine.'

To clarify, the question is about the new Edge. It is easy to change the default browser, but there is no blank page option for a new tab as in the old version. If you do not have the following logo for Edge, then you still have the old version: https://s3-eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/centaur-wp/designweek/prod/content/uploads/2019/11/04141959/new-logo-resized.jpg
