Pop it on the parking sub-forum, you'll get better help.

Is this one of those where you get a fine for stopping to drop someone off in a no drop-off zone? Not that it affects your case, but why was your boot open? Just dropped someone and luggage off by any chance....?!

It's one of the reasons I try and avoid air travel now. I resent being milked for cash at every unavoidable stage of the whole process.

Liverpool airport has got a free drop off car park. 40 minutes for free. Great airport. Much better than Manchester.

#1 It is not a fine, it's an invoice for an alleged breach of parking conditions*

#2 As said above, take this to the parking board

    * the irony being they're sending a PCN based on breach of contractual parking rules to invoice you about a non-parking event. And in any case ... if the alleged "offence" is No Stopping, how can you contract to do something that is forbidden?

  • Why can’t people abide by simple and reasonable requests ?

It’s very clearly indicated around that area NO STOPPING

Why you think you are special enough that you don’t have to adhere to this is beyond me. And then to come asking for help when you got caught.

It’s because of selfish and Inconsiderate people like the OP that these restrictions are put there in the first place.

Sadly, modern society seems to be shifting g towards the selfish, me me attitude and ignore any consideration for other people

You could argue stopping was the safe thing to do and hurt noone.

On topic; the limitations on that fake invoice will expire soon (6 years) so they are sending a last fishing attempt to get you to pay up. They wont take it to court because it'd expose the scam so continue to ignore it.

No it isn't, it is to make the private parking company and the airport money. What is worse is many airports are using the excuse it is down to security and have done this off the back of a terrorist atrocity (Glasgow).

    Agreed ^^^

Edinburgh airport used to charge £1 for 5 minutes to drop people off (ANPR on entry, barrier on exit which uses ANPR to check the vehicle reg to show the amount due to open the barrier), and £3 for 15 minutes at the closest pick up zone. In these days of mobile phones and easy connectivity, many people (myself included) are using the drop off zone to also pick people up - after all both activities take the same amount of time. Edinburgh responded by changing the drop off zone charge to £2 so they could profiteer from peoples' actions.
  • I assume you've owned this car for over 5 years? Otherwise this offence could have been a previous owner.
